Poor Victory support in Massachusetts - Victory Forums

Guys,

One of my good friends ( who doesn't have a computer ) has been experiencing what I see to be nothing short of a complete nightmare.

He bought his bike here in Massachusetts. It was a 92 with a 100 inch kit. A customer who had ordered this bike backed out and my buddy bought it new in 04.

A while back he went out of state to a specialist who put an S+S air box on it. He has done 100's of Victories and claims no reported problems. I never heard any complaints from friend after this mod and for a while didn't see him.

Then not long ago he lost a valve in the rear cylinder. I don't know all the technical details. He had about 12K miles on it.

The shop where he bought the bike couldn't get Victory to take "care of him" because of the S+S air box aftermarket part which Victory claimed caused the failure.

The dealer rebuilt the motor's top end BUT he was still having problems with the engine missing between 3 and 4K rpm after he got it back. The dealer said they had done what they could...................

So now he's had it at another shop and they've had the bike for almost 30 days. It's still not ready. He was supposed to take it down to MOM's in Foxboro because Lloyd's is there today dyno tuning bikes.

There seems to be a serious lack of dealers and after seeing what he's spent and gone through, it would seem to me that if you have any engine problems with Victory.........

Has anyone else in our area of Massachusetts had issues like this before?

Hi Zork52,

I have an '04 Kingpin, it was sputtering and missing at approximately this range, it turned out to be a leaking fuel injector o ring. If you have the S&S airbox, this is a lot easier to fix I am told by my dealer. Anyways, I am having the dealer put the S&S in while he fixes the o ring. You may want to check in the *** forum as well.

I live in SC, so can't help you with finding a good dealer.

Thanks for that info Gec. This site had problems last night so I couldn't reply.

The mechanic "didn't show up for work" today, so my buddy is going up there tomorrow to find out WTF is going on.

I may take a day off and help him "rescue the bike" and trailer it up to Laconia where Lloyd is this week.

I told him about what you had suggested. We'll keep it in mind for sure. I'll post again when this horror movie has ended.

I'm "happy" to report that my buddy is on his way up with some guys from the shop as we speak to see Lloyd.

I'll report on the outcome.

Well Gec,

My buddy got dynoed with Lloyd's up in N.H. and finally ended.

His bike is running great now. He has the 100 inch kit in his 04 and his numbers are 102.59 hp 108.75 tourque
