Default latest custom guitar build

I built it for a buddy of mine with whom i deployed to Afghanistan.

The body is semi-hollow bubinga. The top is quilted maple with a 2 stage dye. The neck is a warmoth jaguar unit with a compound 10-16" radius and an ebony fretboard with no inlays. I used a jazzmaster pickguard and cut it to fit around a telecaster bridge. The bridge pickup is a custom-wound 10k alnico8 by Chris White Pickups. The neck pickup is a Gibson 496R with an alnico 4 magnet swap. The controls are 2 volume, 1 tone, 3 way toggle with the pickups out of phase.

That's one beautiful axe my man,
I could stare it the quilting for hours.
And then spend a few more hours listening to the wonderful sounds of that humbucker.

It sounds very chunky and punchy with lots of resonating sustain. Even though the body is semi-hollow, the guitar is still a good 8-pounder. The bridge pickup is unpotted too, so you hear EVERYthing.

Very cool looking guitar-& there's never been a lot of green ones for some reason. I've put together a lot of bolt on neck Fender style guitars-here's a pic of a set neck "Less Than Paul" I built and gifted to my son in law. It was also my first try at French polishing. Just been doing a few cigar box builds lately- nothing big.
