Default Early fire season BC, PNW

While the East Coast has been buried in snow, British Columbia and the Pacific NW have been having an early summer. They are starting to have forest fires already because of the hot weather and no snow.
Could be really bad come summer.

We had the first day of rain today in several weeks. Over the past few days we've broken several all-time high temp records in various parts of the province. The snow pack is so low that we'll most definitely be dealing with water shortages. Even if we get a real wet month in April and May it won't make up for the low snow pack.

Some ski hills that normally have lots of snow are closed and have been for several weeks.

It's not good.

Wilderness areas contribute dramatically to the huge forest fires we have been having lately. Forests need to be managed to stay healthy and young, but wilderness areas prevent that from happening, so trees get diseased and old, creating fuel for those fires. Another example of wrong-headed lib-think, so be careful out there.
