Default Driver beaten after car veers into bikers

Sometimes justice is swift.

Quote:
A Prius driver who was using his cell phone to record footage of a pack of motorcyclists veered into them Sunday morning, prompting some of the bikers to beat him up on a San Mateo County freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident unfolded just after 8 a.m. as several motorcycle clubs cruised on Harley-Davidsons and other bikes in the fast lane of northbound Highway 101 near Belmont, between Ralston Avenue and West Hillsdale Boulevard.

CHP Officer Art Montiel said the driver of the white Prius, who was identified only as a 19-year-old from San Jose, was one lane over as he video-recorded. Apparently distracted, he veered right into the third lane, overcorrected and crossed back into the fast lane, hitting a motorcycle, Montiel said.

The Prius, he said, bounced off the 4-foot dividing wall and took down a second motorcycle before coming to a stop. Witnesses then reported seeing bikers beating the Prius driver, who later told investigators that he was threatened with a knife as well.

The Prius driver and the two motorcyclists were taken by ambulances to hospitals to be treated for minor injuries. The Prius driver will be cited for distracted driving, Montiel said, and investigators are hoping witnesses can identify who took part in the alleged assault that followed.

Default Stupid prius drivers

Not only was justice swift, it was balanced. An eye for an eye. That Prius driver (Gawd I hate them) got from those riders way less that he deserved. I'm surprised they didn't castrate him on the spot - we don't need that type breeding. For that distracted driving citation, he'll get a small fine and be sent on his way. I hope those riders who he hit will get one of those lawyers that advertises on phone book covers and sues him from here to his grave.

Covering your face with a full face helmet or bandana is good to prevent sunburn, swallowing bugs... and being identified when you beat up some douchebag!

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave

Alleged distracted driving teen attacked by motorcyclists
KTVU And AP Wires

BELMONT, Calif.
A teenage driver who was recording a group of motorcyclists with his cell phone on Highway 101 hit two of the bikers, prompting some of them to assault him, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Redwood City police officers received a report of a collision involving a Toyota Prius and multiple motorcyclists on Highway 101 near the Ralston Avenue exit around 8 a.m., CHP Officer Arturo Montiel said.

While en route to the scene, officers received reports that several motorcycle riders were assaulting the Prius driver, he said.

Arriving officers did not witness the assault, but located four motorcycles in one lane, a Prius stopped two lanes over and at least 20 other motorcyclists at the scene, according to Montiel.

Officers learned that the motorcyclists had been traveling north in the left-most lane while the Prius driver was driving two lanes over to the right, the CHP officer said.

For unknown reasons, the Prius driver was using his cell phone to videotape the motorcyclists as he was driving, according to the CHP. When traffic in front of the car slowed, the driver braked hard and swerved to the left to avoid a crash, colliding with a motorcyclist in the left-hand lane in the process.

The car then collided with the center divider and bounced back, hitting another motorcycle before coming to a stop in the roadway's third lane, Montiel said.

Two more motorcyclists traveling near the back of the pack lost control in an attempt to avoid the crash in their path.

One motorcyclist, 43-year-old Michael Manner of San Bruno, suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung in the collision and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, according to the CHP.

The Prius driver, identified only as a 19-year-old San Jose man, and motorcyclists 48-year-old Fernando Robles of San Bruno and Reggie Santos, 31, of Castro Valley, were each taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

Another motorcyclist, 46-year-old David Ramirez of San Carlos, was transported to a private residence with a broken leg, according to the CHP.

Montiel said the collision and alleged assault remain under investigation, and it is unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Multiple lanes near the scene of the crash remained closed for about 30 minutes Sunday morning.

lol I bet that kid will pull off on the shoulder, come to a complete stop, look away and quietly pee down his leg the next time a group of bikes are near him on the freeway.

That's what happens when you're not paying attention to your surroundings. You run into things. Walls, motorcycles, fists, that sort of thing.
