Default Heading South Tomorrow at Dawn

Tomorrow we will be leaving Michigan at about dawn and headed to central Florida for the seven months of winter. We will be stopping tomorrow night in Dalton, Ga and should be at home in Florida by 4:00 Friday afternoon. The sad news is that I've spent some time the last week washing, fuel treating, covering, and battery tendering our bikes in Michigan for their Santa inspired long winter's nap. The good news is that after a couple of days without riding while we drive the cage south we will be with our Florida bikes (XCT's) and getting them out of their long summer's nap. Woohoo. Sort of new bikes Twelve months of riding in comfortable temperatures for us.

We hope to meet some of our Florida biker brethren this winter.

G'day,

Vinish

Ah, that fantastic Florida riding--carving the twisties and bagging mountain passes one after another.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Anyone headed to central Florida better contact us to meet up. We got in today at about 1:00. We ended up going a lot further Thursday than planned. We were going to stay in Dalton, GA but were feeling strong so cancelled that hotel and motored on. Got to Cordele, GA at 10:00 at night after 15 hrs on the road that day. We have a system that makes time fly by and helps reduce driver fatigue. We switch drivers every 2 hrs and every second stop includes gas and a meal. So today we only had 3.5 hrs to go. Got here safely and only a bit of light to medium rain the entire trip.

About every 15 minutes the navigator checks the traffic ahead on Google maps so we were able to see two traffic jams on I75 (one in TN was very bad) and take side roads to avoid these. This saved us at least 2 hrs stuck in jams caused by wrecks.

Hope to see some of you this winter. I already have plans to install Lloydz ATS, 1/4 turn ring, a PC-V and then get my bike dyno-tuned at KevinX's shop.

Yeah, even the riding in boring flat central Michigan is better than most of central Florida but it beats not riding due to snow, ice, and cold.

G'day,

Vinish
