Default Drinking and Driving

With the holidays close upon us, I would like to share a personal experience with my friends about drinking and driving.

Some of us have been known to have brushes with the authorities from time to time, often on the way home after a "social session" with family or friends.

Well, two days ago, this happened to me. I was out for an evening with friends and had more than several whiskies followed by a couple of bottles of rather nice red wine and vodka shots. Although relaxed, I still had the common sense to know I was slightly over the limit. That is when I did something I've never done before - I took a taxi home!

Sure enough on the way there was a police roadblock, but since it was a taxi they waved it past and I arrived home safely without incident.

This was a real surprise to me, because I had never driven a taxi before. I don't know where I got it, and now that it's in my garage I don't know what to do with it.

Of course this is cute and all but I'm reminded every time I get in my car the price of getting caught by blowing in a device before my car will crank. I love to drink but will not get behind the wheel ever again if I choose to drink. Price is too high and consequences could be disastrous.

By all means CALL a taxi, please don't steal one.

Old joke but still funny stuff. I'm thankful that I gave up drinking 14 months ago just because of my blood sugar and not because of being an alcoholic. Looking back it's actually a good thing. My son got a DUI ticket and it F'd his life for 5 years...

yup, same thing happened to my son. Sure taught him a lesson though.

As for me, I will not drive if I've even had one beer. Wasn't the case many years ago though. To this day I still am amazed I never got caught with anything more than a single 24 hr suspension.

I had a wee bit too much to drink last New Years Eve, but figured if I take it easy I'll make it home without any problems. Boy was I surprised. I was rounding the last corner before my house and some idiot stepped on my hands.

A friend asked me what I thought he needed to defend his home.
I suggested a 9mm, a couple clips, and a box of shells. A few days later, he sent me this picture and asked how to make it work.
Iím not sure, but he is probably a Democrat and will vote for Hillary, no matter what.
