Default Happy saint patrick's day

Corned beef, cabbage and Irish whiskey in the Cantina today. With no wind and a high of 61 degrees. The great thing is several people are doing all the cooking and bringing it over including the whiskey.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring, officially. But we will be about 20 degrees F below normal temperatures here. It's that damned global warming our day time temps have been below normal all winter. In fact our summers have been cooler the last couple of years. That damned global warming is doing it. If it keeps up with this trend we could see another ice age and it is all caused by global warming.

Teacher Fails Entire Class and explains why Socialism won't work, and always fails. This teacher is a GENIUS!

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on this plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Can you think of a reason for not sharing this? Neither could I.

Heading to Munich Germany tomorrow on a 2 week business trip. I'll have a long weekend between meetings and I'm thinking about renting a motorcycle for a day or two if the weather is good. Probably not much chance of renting a Victory LOL, so I'll probably be on a BMW for a ride through the countryside.

Current Stable: 2014 XC, 2004 VStar 1100, PCX 150, 125 SYM Havana.

Born in the deepest jungles of India, I was raised by a friendly bear, until I was kidnapped by a pack of unruly baboons who taught me the finer points of swing jazz, all the while being stalked by an incompetent python and an evil but mis-understood tiger... Ummm, wait a minute, that's the Jungle book, no I was raised just outside of St. Louis, But...in the deepest jungles of a middle class neighborhood .

Might have to settle for a moped or scooter. They are quite strict on their motorcycle licensing there.

I usually go 1 or 2 times a year. Most of the time it's 3 or 4 days but every few years I get a 2 week stay. I've driven the Autobahns a few times but they limit most rental cars to 235 KPH. Yeah I've tested it more than once.
I don't think renting a motorcycle is going to be too big of deal but you never know. One of the weird things is they have half 1/2 year and full year MC licenses. The 1/2 year is called a summer license and starts in April. I'm hoping that won't be an issue because it's a bit of a bucket list item for me to ride through the Alps. I've had a couple colleagues tell me to let them know when I'm in town and they'll let me borrow a bike but I would rather rent than be responsible for their bike.
