Default HD number 1 US seller of motorcycles to prime demographics.

Young adults, women, and minorities. For those that say HD needs to change, afraid not. They seem to be beating everyone else by being HD. Love em, hate em, whatever, but end of the day they are exactly what they are.

I love HD. They make my Victory stand out!

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Herd mentality. Most of them probably don't know any more about bikes than they know about Mars. Their uncle told them "if they had to ask..." They felt embarrassed for having to ask and sheepishly joined in with the rest of the herd.

I did enjoy this reply to the article:

"Racism and Discrimination is alive and well I see ….. How come they're not tracking Native Americans? Are they all waiting to buy from Indian Motorcycle?"

Harley Davidson; the brand most traded in for a Victory.

Never mind that H-D is one of only two major US manufacturers at all.

For a better stat, let's see Victory growth numbers and market share compared to H-D in the US market.

Since Polaris has been building motorcycles for maybe 15 or so years now, compared to 110 years for H-D, one can conclude H-D had a bit of a head start establishing itself as the classic cruiser standard for others to be held to.

Thankfully, Victory thumbed it's nose at that convention, declaring "B___ S___! Chain primaries, pushrods and low revving motors are more history in substandard design and tractor lore, than the standard by which American motorcycles should aspire to achieve."

... LOL! I had to laugh at my own statement there.

I loved the HDs as well, They made me want for more, They pushed others to look for another solution instead of settleing for insanity by definition. The ones I owned in the past always found me happy but unsatisfied at best and they have showed me what I wished was out there in a bike and now its available. Its kinda why I like but dont love plain hamburgers now that Ive had a deluxe bacon cheese burger.

2013 black XCT.

the thing that's holding vic back is the lack of dedicated vic dealers, and around here the lack of ANY vic dealers. I truly believe if they had a good dealer network with a full selection of bikes and parts and accessories on hand they would already have grown many times more than they have.

now , 2011 crossroads and 05 sportster bobber in the making
in order of ownership, sears compact scooter, honda 305 scrambler, honda 160 dream , triumph 500 trophy trail, honda cb450, sportster, honda f750, 2nd sportster, harley flh, harley super glide, 3rd sportster, bmw k1000, harley low rider, 2nd harley super glide, harley heratage, harley road king, bmw r1150rt,
thats just the street bikes!

Thanks for the link.. Good read. I found this statement very telling..

"Still, Polarisí motorcycle business didnít fare too badly. According to Polaris, the overall North American market for 1400cc and larger motorcycles shrank 10% over the first quarter, so Victory Motorcycles actually saw an increase in market share for the 14th consecutive quarter."
