Default Southern Motorworx/Vision tune

I finally made it up to Kevin X's new shop for some performance parts. Since buying the 2012 Vision in late March the only thing I have done to the engine was to install Lloyds timing wheel. Seemed like a good start but I soon realized that the EPA leaned this bike out to the point that it really needed help. I know air cooled v-twins run hot on those August days in Florida, but traffic jams really suck on a lean engine. After a few conversations with Kevin. we had decided that adding the top filter,Lloydz pc3 and quarter turn throttle ring should give me the performance that Ma Vic wasn't allowed to. After much good conversation as I watched a true professional wrench at work, the Vision moved to the dyno. The 02's were replaced with bung plugs to clean up the appearance and then on with the show.I have not seen the dyno process before, but Kevin explained the objective step by step. I personally like to do my own mechanical work on all my vehicles, so trusting others to wrench on my bike has been a leap of faith. I now have no regrets. The Vision has never run this smooth before. Just touch the starter and it eagerly fires and idles perfectly. The dyno numbers turned 90 hp and 106 tq. The best part is how the power comes on, linear and strong. I rarely rev above 4 grand, but now revving to just shy of 5 grand is awsome. I should have had this work done sooner but it takes a while save up on my budget. If any of you ever had any doubts about Kevin's mastery of the Victory engine tune, doubt no more. Starting next week I begin to save up for drop in cams.High Springs is about as centrally located as you can get for Florida. Make a call and make the trip. You will be glad you did. I am.

That is great to hear. I am far closer to Rylan Voss at the Vic Shop but so far all I have is a self installed timing wheel that I set at a conservative 3 degrees. I really need to call Rylan and talk to him about better breathing and a PC5 install.

Present ride - 2013 Victory Vision, black, ATW at +3, Lloydz air filter and adjustable intake, PC5, 30,xxx miles

Default pc3 or pc5

I my case Kevin said since I did not do the drop in cams this time the PC3 would dyno very well. Since the drop in cams continue to build Hp past 4,800 rpm that the PC5 would allow you to extend the rev limiter and take advantage of the additional power up top. The increase in torque that I experienced is right in the midrange. About 100 ft. lbs at 2,500 rpm, then peaks at 106 ft. lbs at 3,000 rpm. For me that is the sweet spot that I cruise in 80% of the time. And did I mention how smooth the power comes on, like butter. Even the D and D mufflers sing a noticeably differently sound. In the end my numbers are 90 hp at 5,100 rpm and 106 ft. lbs at 3,000 rpms. We did not run a before dyno pull but I believe it would have been around 77/90, but don't quote me on that. Kevin could estimate that more accurately. Hope this helps.

I have been watching KevinX's setup on Facebook, it would be a little bit of a ride for me, but I think I may go down and have him do some tuning for me in the future. Good to hear a positive testimonial.

You have a PCV in your bike. The PC3 is for 07 and earlier models. On my Dyno your before numbers would have been closer to 80/95. All in all a good running bike and a great customer!

Kevin, I went to Rylan Voss's shop last week and got about the same thing as the OP. I already had a self installed timing wheel set at +3 on my '13 Vision and Rylan installed a PC5 and a top filter. He also spent lots of time, maybe 45 minutes tuning each cylinder. The end result was this. Yes I know it took 38 dyno runs to get here but look at that WOT AFR.

I am aware that your dyno is somehow pessimistic so keep that in mind but I can feel a difference in how my bike responds to the throttle.

I think he meant to say VFC-III... Insert that in place of PC-III in the posts and suddenly they make sense.
