Default Broke the running light cover

So, I'm parking the Vision in the garage- this is a single car garage, where I park the bike to the left hand side, very close to the shelf by the wall. I've been parking my bikes there for years. A year or so ago, I re-painted the garage floor with (oddly enough) garage floor paint, from Behr this time. I also got a foam pad to park the bike on because the last paint I used in the garage was wearing thin where the bike tires rubbed it. Well, yesterday I didn't get the bike in the garage far enough to close the door...

So, in my haste, and very poor judgement, I tried to push the bike forward a few inches. The kickstand made contact with the floor and retracted, but too late for me to stop the bike from going over. It stopped on the tip points, as advertised, but the fairing made contact with the cabinets to the left. I heard the light cover crack. I was hoping that it was the plastic cabinets, but no.

Of course, I couldn't lift the bike from the right, so I got over it and tried to lift it from the kickstand side only to find out that the back wheel on the foam pad was sliding away from me. And of course I couldn't get proper leverage because of the wall and shelving behind me, mere inches from the bike. My wife came out into the garage and asked what she could do to help...

I had her stand on the foam pad while I lifted and we got the bike righted. Then the fun started... Luckily, the piece of the light cover was easy to find and it looks like I could just glue it back on, perhaps even hiding the crack, if done properly. Well, we couldn't get the piece to stay long enough for the glue to set, so I thought I'd pull the front fairing off, which was pretty easy to do. Now, I need to try to take off the cover so I can glue it and let it set for a day or so. So, now that I've told this long tale of woe, can someone telll me how to get the light cover off? The onwner's manual is leaving me a bit confused.

FWIW, the bike is fine, my ego was a little bruised and my wonderful wife didn't say a single word about my stupidity. Life is good.

you have to pull the side panel off to get at the bottom bolts that hole the turn signal in place. Yes you have to pull the dash the mirror the plastic cover that hold the mirror in place. You have to un bolt the aluminum trim on the front of the left panel
why not take the peace of lens you have press it on some tape then glue the edges and put in place. When dry pull the tape off. If you tear it down far enough maybe change the headlight bulbs while your there
