Default Comparing 08,10 to 12's

Well the Vision continues to draw my attention and was looking to pick a used 08-10 but wondered if anything substantially different to the 12s. Also, will most likely be no trunk if tour or it will be a 8ball. Just now noticed how much smaller side bags are in comparison to the XCT. Any inputs on storage using side bags only?

Planning to use for over the road about 50/50 to local highway. Currently I can get most of what I use on trips into the saddle bags of my TC and using a road bag wold not be out of the question. Will not be riding 2up very often due to injury to wife's spine. I am planing on a trailer in the future but that is a ways down the road.

Thanks for your input.

Safe riddin!,,

12 has ABS, quieter transmission, and neutral finder going for it. not to mention things like warranty
10 has the older more noisy trans, but I like the way it shifts better. It also has the later electronic interface stuff; so all the bells can be hooked up[including Iphone with charging]. If you are not worried about ABS. This is the one I would buy.
08 would be okay, but it would have to be a great deal. Vic no longer sells the interface stuff for things like plug and play GPS

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

What ever year I don't think you can go wrong.
If you get a 8ball then you have no radio and if you ever want one there a good $500 or more.
You can always take the trunk off and if you ever sell it now you have a trunk as a selling feature.
Yes the bags are small but if you learn to pack right you can get a lot in them.
If you buy used make sure there is really good tires front and read get owners manual. Tire would run about 500 for both.
Here is a craigslist that will cover all the USA
Ask about warranty for $25 you can have it transfered into your name.

Thanks KevinX and VJ for the feedback... Good idea about just pulling the trunk from the tour as I didnt catch the 8ball didnt have a radio. Maybe because I dont have one... lol.. Still trying to make my mind up which path to go, the XCT is a great looking ride but think the fixed fairing may be the direction I want to go. Good points on the tranny, thats what I was hoping to hear back. ABS too, my Winger buddies always bragging about it. Looks like 10 or better and with winter coming up will see what the market gets populated with. 2012 close outs may make it worthwhile too.

Anyone else thoughts on the Vision over the XCT? Specific selling points that made you go that route?

Thanks again and don't think the TC is getting sold... Setting the stage for the TC getting to know LLoyds a little better unless I need to go to Florida.. lol...

Default Go Ride Them!

I did and I chose the Vision. The dealers are very proactive and allow test rides. The XTC is nice but for comfort, wind protection and crowd conversation, nothing beats the Vision.

Couple other things I am not finding info on and looking for feedback. I run a JM2000 CB on my TC for both CB and dual intercom along with a Nuvi 550 plugged in to the aux for music and of course GPS (not that I ever get lost)....

Was wondering what folks are doing for CB on the Vision and noticed if I order the Nuvi 660 on a new bike its 299 which is about right current market. Not sure how to push a CB/Intercom and GPS onto the Vision. Headin to the dealer now to grab a ride and ask some questions... Thanks again for the feedback.

Just wanted to say thanks to the folks here and some of the other threads where VISION accessory's were discussed including CB, heat, and seat. The rest of the performance I was pretty much up on but folks here (and another forum) sure helped in understanding what I was getting and not in each year model.

So, adding to the signature line..... DRUM ROLL PLEASE

2011 VISION (White because it goes faster someone said)

New off the floor at a price that I am flying to Chattanooga TN for the pickup and ride back to Chesapeake Va...

With the $2500 rebate, 5 yr power train and the Full Throttle Salute ($1000)! Heck ya!

Great dealership to work with, both Jeremy and owner Will were willing to be real on pricing and went above and beyond. Even picking me up at the airport.. hehe Heres their contact info:

Jeremy Haws
Super Street Custom Cycles
4009 Cloud Springs Road
Ringgold, GA 30736

And a pic of the newest addition to the stable...
Nope, the TC aint going anywheres!!

A pic of the new ride.. Jeremey is a great salesman but leaves a little to be desired on picture taking.. He tried... Kinda like a Vision UltraSound... I can make it out but...hehehe

Thanks again everyone for your assistance!!!!

Tim
