Welcome Grey and hope I can help ya a bit. I was like you and not keen on the Vision at first but it grew on me. Just picked up a brand new 2011 Tour with all the rebates for 16,400 (Military Full Throttle) and rode it 650+ miles back home. All I can say is WOW! My other bike is an 04 Touring Cruiser, loud, fast and fun... I think the Vision is exactly what you are looking for especillay if you liked the RoadGlide with its fixed fairing even though you were on an Electra. It does take a little getting used to but I am here to tell you this...
You don't get on a Vision, you get in it... (Stolen comment from another rider)... Well it is no bull! I settled into it within the first 100 miles. I was worred going from the windscreen to fixed fairing it would be weird.. NOPE! Controls are great, Cent Gravit, awsome, and heated grips/seats a treat. The wind envelope is something else. Rode my TC today on the highway and wow, what a differnce. Fuel econmy and milage, unbelievable! I actaully stopped for gas one time coming home because I just wanted a cup of coffe and was ready for a break. lol
So all this said, here is what I know as I only looked at the Tour 10, 11 or 12. You will want to avoid the street as to add the trunk will cost ya and you loose the radio I believe.
11 tour came with heated grips, seat, Standard radio (which is sounding great), and cruise. Everything you need. I am adding a CB through Kate at Honda Toledo costing me about 800 I think with antenna.
Here is the link where I was asking your same question. Bottom line, there are still some 11s out there that have the upgrades on it that might not be much more than your used plus you can get the 4.9 for 72 months to soften the payment. They even tried to get me to go 84 at 5.4 and do some upgrades but I passed.
If you would like to check into an NEW Burgendy tour 2011 with all the current rebates I can get the point of contact for you and the selling price is 17800 (he might go a few hundred less) and if you happen to be a retired vet, your DD214 will get you another 1000 off. Shoot me a PM if your interested or want more info.
Don't let the NEW design of this bike throw you a curve. This machine is absolutely amazing. I little differnt, your going to get some looks but the ride is unbelievable!
Hope this helps
