I did the Thrush Muffler Mod on my Vision. No, you just have to remove the lower skirt under the saddle bags to access the stock muffler mounts. I removed the saddlebag doors but not totally convinced that was necessary either. There are two mounting bolts, one at the front of the muffler and one at the back. I just used the rear one when I put the Glass Packs on (I had to make my own mounting tab and weld it to the muffler). it's not hard to do, but does help if you have 3 hands. Also, if you do remove your saddlebag doors, pay close attention to any shims that are under the hinges. They WILL need to be put back where they were. Good luck.
