Default Side panels

I took off my side panels that cover battery and fuses. From what I can tell riding it won't bother anything..I am having the panels hydrographic dipped is why they are off..Any opinions on riding without them in place?

Shouldn't hurt anything. I didn't get one of mine on all the way before I took off one day, noticed it several miles later.
