Default Removing Driver Foot Pegs from the Gunner

I recently purchased some small floor boards for my 2015 Gunner. The problem is there does not seem to be an easy way to remove the current driver foot pegs. On previous bikes I removed the cotter pin and the dowel holding the foot peg came out easily. There is no cotter pin on the Gunner configuration. Other than banging the shit out of the dowel I'm not sure how to remove the foot pegs.

Look very closely at the side that should be angled to the ground and see if you can see a little metal wire wrapped around it. If it's like the passenger foot pegs on my xc, that's what you'll find.

I took a dremel with a thin cut off wheel to it, because I couldn't pry it out of there. You just have to cut one little part of it, then it'll pry out of there a bit easier. I then replaced it with a snap ring.
