Default Oil Change Interval?

Been looking through the forum and hear mention of 5000mile (8000ks) interval,
also on the Youtube clip where they talk with the Highway Patrol the 5000 mile interval is mentioned by the Victory rep..
Ive downoaded the Victory Owners Manual and it says oil and filter change every 2500 miles (4000ks)

the one I looked at (closest on for my bike) 2014 hammer, vegas, highball, judge, and boardwalk shows 5000 mile intervals on page 52.

The interval used to be 2500 miles until they put a neutral finder in the gear boxes in 2011. Apparently, the pre-2011 bikes started having issues getting neutral at around 2500 miles as the oil started to degrade. No longer an issue. I change my 2011 XR's oil every 5k miles whether it needs it or not. Runs fine for me.

Default ok thanks

that clears that up 5000 miles (8,000ks) it is!
changed my oil when I bought the bike a month ago at 14,400ks, because its history was unknown, couldn't get a filter at the time so just put 5 quarts of EPON 20-50 oil in, now a month later Ive covered 4000ks more (2500miles), not having any issues but I got a new filter from Victory in Brisbane($21Aus) and 5 qts Victory oil ($75 Aus.), thought the interval was 4000k so changed 'em.
8000k (5000mile) is more like it

Here is the manual for your bike showing the 2500 miles service schedule
http://cdn.polarisindustries.com/pol...9922429r01.pdf

The website is kind of confusing since it only lists one (Kingpin) of the two bikes it covers (Kingpin and Vegas). Technically it covers four bike since it also has the Kingpin and Vegas 8-Ball listed on the front cover as well.

Here is what the website looks like:

Here is what IMO it SHOULD say:

I don't think that it's too far of a stretch to think someone with a Hammer S would download the Hammer manual even though Hammer S isn't listed on the website link

+1
That statement is correct. Victory models up to 2010 get oil changes every 2,500 miles; models 2011 and newer get oil changes every 5,000 miles.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.
