When I was young, grade school and younger there was very little plastic. Every thing was glass or tin/steel cans, a few toys. Coke bottles, milk bottles and some beer bottles were returnable. I always bought beer in bar bottles because they where returnable. In the early 80's when I lived on the economy in Germany I had beer and cokes delivered to the house. There bottles were returnable and we would set the empties on the curb and they would take the empties and leave full ones. It was really nice and convenient. OOOH yeah, dippers were cloth and dipper pals smelt real bad. But clothe dipper work real well to spit shine my boots in the Army. I have no solution how do deal with the waste today and I do not recycle and will not. I have seen all kinds of ways they use recycled plastic, building materials, clothes or back into bottle and I'm sure there are many other ways. With everything they are doing we still have a great amount of waste.
