Default J&M Shorty Headsets are excellent

If you have Victory Factory CB/Intercom system then continue reading:

Earlier this year I purchased J&M Shorty Elite Headset and J&M lower to Vic 7-pin cord for driver. Love the setup, it works great. Have it installed in my Scorpion EXO-100 helmet.

My wife has been envious when I ride with my shorty headset while she has been stuck using 3/4 helmet with victory passenger headset in it. In Feb 2012 we pre-ordered her a J&M lower to Vic 7-pin passenger cord and a J&M shorty headset. Wife's shorty headset and passenger cord arrived via Fed-Ex today, 26APR12. Install was quick and simple. It works just as good as mine does.

Both headsets and cords were ordered from Seirra-MC since they have a better price than purchasing directly from J&M. They took my pre-order over the phone when they didn't have passenger cord listed on their website.

J&M headsets and cords are better quality than Victory headset kits. You will not be disappointed!!!

On another note, in Feb 2012 J&M told me they would offer a Bluetooth integration kit so Victory CB/Intercom would be able to communicate with cell phones, GPS, and radar detector. Two weeks ago another J&M contact told me the Bluetooth integration kit will be very similar to the one currently available for GoldWings.

Headsets will still be wired to factory CB/Intercom system, but this J&M Integrator will wire in-between headsets cords and cb/intercom harness.

Good read and thought I would chime in on your prais for this head set. While I do ride a 04 TC, I installed a JM2000 CB on the bar last October and purchased the same head set for my Scorpion Shorty helmet.
Transmissition: Inteligibility improved greatly once I installed fork deflectors below my wind screen which reduced 90% of my buffeting that also drown my mike. Since then, my Wingger buddies say they hear me as clear as they sound to me from their full face helmets. Ofcourse there is a nice ROAR of the VTwin in their background when I key up... lol. But anyway, I have logged around 500 miles of solid pouring over the winter rain with the shorty and the mic has not ONCE waivered in transmission. Im thourghly impressed with this head set and while a 1/2 or full may offer a little clearer transmission, no one in the groups I have riddin with have complained at all about this boom.

Mounting: I mounted my what appears as the exact same way you did with the boom through the strap and mike almost always stays positioned correctly and when riding solo, tucks under the chin with no problem. My helmet came with a winter zip in that had ear piece pockets so I didnt have to use the ones sent. Music sounds very good and while they aint BOSE they do pretty well IMHO. The only complaint I might have is my own fault of not keeping track of the boom mic facing me some times when I have taken my helment on/off several times not using the CB. Usually, somone on channel tells me when I clear up and I can figure out which way it is facing.
