Default Got a not so nice surprise today

I removed my fairing today to install my new polk speakers when I discovered several of the tabs that the screws go into were completely broken off our cracked! I have never touched these screws for any reason. My guess is whomever assembled the bike over torqued them. I'm expecting no help from my dealer but we will see.
I'm considering trying some gorilla glue. Any thoughts.

I've used Plastex to repair HD fairing in the past for the same problem. I keep some on hand and use it for any kind of plastic repairs.

I'd contact your dealer first and foremost. Perhaps just an overall replacement from them or something.

I never knew that stuff existed. That seems like it would be pretty handy to have around for a lot of different applications. Unfortunately I got ancy last night
and used some gorilla glue. Hope it holds. Thanks for the info.

Talked to the dealership today. He told me that they can't approve a replacement at their level without first getting the blessing of Victory so they forwarded my pictures to them and said they should get an answer in a couple of days. I am already less than pleased. Why all the hoops to jump through? It's broken. It's under warranty. It's nothing I did. So make it right. Victory has a real chance to shine or be forever tarnished in my eyes depending on how they handle this.

Your dealer can certainly make that decision on the spot to make it right. No need to get mother Victory involved in this very minor issue. At most, they could reach out to their Regional Sales Rep. to advise of the situation, but that should be that. Best of luck with this.

I agree. I think the dealership doesn't want to to take responsibility for a mistake that I believe they most likely made during assembly.

So I got my repsonse from Victory today. Basically I was told it was my fault that the fairing tabs broke because I am "inexperienced" and, oh, by the way...we aren't going to cover your stereo in the future either because you bought the Polk speakers. I explained that I removed the fairing per the Victory service manual instructions and that I had not even installed the speakers yet. I was told by Victory customer service that basically it's my word against theirs and there is nothing I can do. I am so mad I don't even know what to say.

Hope this makes it easier to read the highlighted section

That's a pretty strong stance to take. I feel disappointed myself. They said you should have had rattling before now?? Everyone complains about noise from the fairing area.
Not much you can do now besides register your disappointment with your dealer who doesn't seem to care much about repeat business and look to another dealer for future upgrades and options.
Why did you have to take the fairing off for a speaker change anyway?

I was under the impression that it made things a bit easier to do. Plus I wanted to install an Ipod cord so I figure I would just do it all at once. I just can't believe Im just "stuck!" No recourse, no second opnion..nothing! Kind of a big pill to swallow. What really gets me is that the dealer acts like they're did all they could do. It seems to me that they could've just honored the warranty and that would have been that. Am I incorrect to assume that if they would have just taken care of it from the very beginning then Victorywouldn't have given it a second thought?
