Default XC Trunk; is it worth it?

So I have a 2014 XC that I picked up for a great deal this past Oct. I am thinking of getting a trunk for it but am having a hard time justifying the $1500 for it.

My question is: are they worth it? and how often do you use it?

I purchased the XC as a trade up for my Judge since I was making longer trips. Loved the Judge but wanted a comfortable seat and more storage for day trips. The XC saddle bags are huge but I can see filling them if I did longer than a day with my wife. My wife liked the look of the Judge more than the XC but she barley rides with me. I'm thinking of the trunk so we can get away for longer than a few hours on the bike this next season.

Just looking for some opinions from anyone who has purchased a trunk for their XC. I know most XCT rider bought for the storage tha comes with that package but I got a better deal on my XC and love the ride.

Thanks!

Get the backrest and luggage rack my wife says it's more comfortable!
Then get the Victory leather bag that straps to the luggage rack. It has been the best thing ever it has a shoulder strap too, we pack it with towels change of cloths and lunch then head out to the river or lake it's verry handy!

Back rest and luggage rack can be had on EBay new for about $325.00
I got the bag from my dealer for $120.00

Depends on the amount of stuff you pack. I go on camping trips with my wife, my saddlebags hold enough clothes / crap to cover both of us for 5 days and I strap the tent / rain gear to the rack.

I bought a trunk for my XR. I don't use it much, but it's real handy for long trips and when my wife wants to go with. It's easy to install or remove, so for me it is worth it. Shop around, you can find a used one for around $1000 if you are patient.

I already have the backrest and was thinking of going with the rack & bag set up but then the ease of putting the trunk on an off is the draw.

for me i use my bike as a work csr in the summer, and hauling my kids to their sports activities, like football, the trunk would hold extra helmet and pads for them, and my lunchbox along with groceries etc. and to have the rear speakers would be really nice

currently bikeless

Got my first trunk in 1984 and haven't ridden without one since. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.
