Default D&D Muffler question(s)

So, I got me a set of D&D slip-ons from another member here about a year ago.

Apparently there are 2 baffle kinds ... wrapped and non-wrapped.

So I took the baffles out yesterday (was very easy). There's no way to tell if they are or are not wrapped as the entire guts of the baffle is enclosed in a "cannister".

So first question is, how does one know if they are or are not wrapped?

Now onto the second question and this might take some 'splainin ...

The Insides of the baffle are "fluted" (similar to louvers) from one end to the other. There's a lot of flutes. The flutes face towards the rear. Not sure what the reason of that is but I'd be curious to know.

My question is, has anyone who has these mufflers ever reversed the baffle so that the flutes face the front?

It would seem to me that this would cause more "trapping" of the exhaust passing though, providing a bit more back pressure and reducing or changing the tone of the muffler.

Anyhoo, I did reverse mine but have not had a chance to test them as it's still crappy weather and I haven't put the muffs back on the bike.
