Default Exhaust flange gap to cylinder?

I'm bolting my XCT back up. I have a new Kuryakyn copper gasket under the flange but I've hit 12 ft lbs torque and the flange is still 3/8" away from touching the jug.

Rear cylinder.

Is this how it's supposed to be?

Thx

It is not supposed to touch the head.

Either the pipe is seated in the head or it isn't. You can't tell by looking?

I'll have to get in there close with a flashlight and have a better look.

The lower fairing and chin fairing are blocking my view of the front cylinder for a comparative view.

the two bolt flange pushes against a standoff on the pipe, pushing it to the cylinder, the two bolt flange should not touch the cylinder, if it does you have problems
