Default advice on 2011 xc

Im sure posts like these pop up all the time, but I appreciate any input!

I'm looking at a 2011 xc for 12,500. It was apparantly owned by a Vic dealership owner for the 1st 200 miles of its life and has almost every option (top trunk, racks on trunk and saddlebags, foot pegs, stage 1 exhaust, etc etc). What are some common issues I should look out for when checking it out tomorrow? It has 12000 miles on it.

Its my second bike after 4 years on a suzuki gs 750, so any riding gotchas on this are helpful as well!

Thanks for the time!

Does it have cruise and heated seat and grips? If those things are important you you, as well as fairing lowers then you would be better off looking a 2012 tour. I'm sure you could find a used 2012 tour for a similar price and it would have all those other options I stated. Oh and a LED headlight came standard, that year only I believe. But, all that being said it sounds like a fair price for that year. Good luck in your search!

Default 2011 xc

Owning a 2011 Cross Country, I have had zero problems. Maintenance is easy, simple oil change, etc. Rear wheel removal for a tire change or repair is a PIA.

Original mileage = 200 why ?
Price may be high, I don.t know what the add on are worth. Check other sites like KBB and NADA.

Apparantly the guy had a bunch of other bikes and rode this the least. The dealer owned it as a personal bike. As far as heated grips and seats, I've looked into it, but all the 2011s I can find are in Ohio. Besides In inTexas, so I can probably wait till November to put that on

I have had my XR for over 5 years and no problems. Vics are so damn dependable its boring, nothing to wrench on except for doing mods and adding accessories. Routine maintenance is minimal and easy.
I would offer less than the $12.5--maybe $10 and go from there. Make like you can take it or leave it. That is, unless you absolutely have to have it and have the cash in your pocket to spend.

2010 Midnight Cherry XR. 7Jurock, Lloydz AF, ATS, AFR tuned VFCIII, IAV, and T-6 and locally repacked pipes = big smiles. SOLD to a dear friend, so it's still in the family."
2017 Spyder F3 Limited - keeps this old guy in the wind and riding with friends.

Yeah, I've talked him down from 14000 site unseen. Hoping to get him a little lower when I see it (a reflector fell off a side bag and missing chrome on highway pegs is all he mentioned)...

You gall-dern XC owners sure are proud of your bikes, and typically dont want to budge much. (No offense, just having some fun ) Out of all the 2011 XC's I've seen, the lowest was 11500 ( and it had scratches, melted plastic on the muffler, paint wasn't great, pistol holster screwed inside a saddle bag, and holes drilled engine covers (where the key goes) so the underlights would shine through), but the seller decided to keep it when I was finalizing the loan.

There was one for 11k at a dealership 4 hours away with EVERYTHING on it (cb passenger boards trunk, pegs, upgraded exhaust on it, luggage racks, crash bars on the bags, auxiliary lights, cupholders, 2 windscreens, looked like upgraded saddle and some other stuff). I called to set up a test ride or at least see it the next day, and he said no test rides, claimed a bunch of people we looking at it, wanted a deposit ( which I considered), but when he called back he claimed a guy in Florida was working with another salesman on financing it and tried to pressure me to buy it over the phone. I called the next day to come see it and he claimed it was sold, but it's still on cycletrader and other sites... (check it out, Polaris West (or is it east?) In Katy Tx.)

LONG STORY SHORT, after those experoences, I'm willing to meet the market average for a good quality xc. I Goss you pay a premium for quality, still miles better than H-D though.

If this one doesn't work out, perhaps it's a sign I need to stay off the bikes... or go Japanese.
