Default Went ahead and ordered the MRA X-creen Add-On

I'll be attaching it to my Klockwerks Flare. I love the Flare but feel there may be sometimes I want some more wind protection due to my long torso and for my passenger as well. Especially if just cruising on a highway.

I'll be sure to update everyone once I install it and test it out.

Did you need any kind of adapter for the Klockwerks windshield to fit your XCT? I've got one but hadn't tried isntalling it yet. I'm still running the stock shield.

The dealer installed it for me as I got it time of purchase. However by just looking at it it seems they just removed the extended stock windshield bracket.

I will be taking it off to drill the holes so I can confirm then if any special bracket is required.

Now you have me thinking. I love my Klock Werks shield but find on the highway or on long trips I still think it is 2 to 3 inches too short. Please let us know how this shield add on works as it looks to be an ideal solution when travelling, you can snap it on or remove easily for just around town . Pictures please and will it damage the Klocks shield, I am thinking with the optional clamps.

Thanks.

I did order the bolt on one, as I plan on leaving it on. I was debating it, and I don't see why the clamp version wouldn't work just as well. The only problem with the clamp version is you have to be more concerned with it being tight. However, I doubt with the pads on the inside of the clamp that it will even mark up the windshield.

I didn't want to be concerned with the clamp loosen over time.

I will add pictures as soon as I can.

Hmmm... looks like an interesting product but I think the Madstad system would look better and probably work better but to each their own. They now work with the stock holes on XC shields.

How much is the Mastad? I clicked the link and I don't see an add to cart option. I also don't see the pictures on that link either. I do see images if I click on the image gallery link but not of the XC.

Can it be adjusted while riding?

Bryk,

The link - http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/sc.7/category.2446/.f - works for me (tried it in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Opera); maybe try it again, and refresh the page or something. To the right of the text - and this takes a few seconds to load - is a big XC/Madstad pic, and below that are thumbnails of that and six other XC pics.

I don't see "Add to Cart," either. And I don't know whether it can be adjusted while riding.

I was thinking of the Madstad while I was doing research, before I got my XCT. I opted for the Klockwerks Flare (not to be confused with the taller Victory Flip), for now, anyway. FWIW, the Flare has worked out fine for me, both in around-town riding - lots of air flow, because it's short - and also on a couple of 500+ mile highway days. On highway riding, I get some buffeting even with the curved top lip, but it's not enough to really bother me. Of course, inseam and torso length is different for everyone, helmet type, and so forth, so your buffeting may vary.

Cheers,

Bill P.

I sent a message to Mark, the owner and designer, of Madstad about the lack of price or add to cart button.

No. The shield cannot be adjusted while moving. It takes a wrench or two to loosen and tighten the adjustment points. A little trial and error and you soon find that perfect spot for you.

For people who don't wish to drill holes in their existing shield, these people make a similar product:
