Default Saddle Bag Luggage Racks - HOLY COW$$$$$

Yesterday I'm tooling around town in my dump truck and I passed by a local gas station and spotted a Vic XC dragging a trailer that had luggage racks on the bag lids. I'd never seen the racks before and I'm one of those admonishes every passenger to "DON'T #@$!#@ KICK MY BAG LIDS!!"

So this morning I did a quick search and found the racks on the official Victory site. HOLY CRAP they like those things!!! I'm afraid I'm not about to dump $350 on a set of racks. Maybe they's sell more of their accessories if they didn't try to compete with HD's pricing schedule.

I have 3M paint defender on my front fender to prevent rock chips works great. Napa ans Advance auto sells it
Put on the front of your bags to prevent rock chips. If you don't like it you can peal it off

S-100 polish has a very mild abrasive that is very good at getting rid of kick marks from my bag lids and also is great for eliminating spider webs from the paint. Then I coat with Meguair's Yellow #26 wax. A lot cheaper than those racks, which I don't find attractive.

I originally wanted the bag lid rails but they are way too expensive for what they are.

I was looking at a black set at the dealers last week...but there's no F-ing way I'm paying $350 either.

350$ for a rack...that's cheap....if that rack is an upgrade for a woman

VJ..tell me more about the defender film.....is it a PITA to put on?
Edit...I just watched the video...it says to put wax on to aid in the peeling off when its time.
I have a Suede Titanium paint scheme and you're not supposed to wax it....now thats a dilemma

If you put it on "suede" paint the film dry shiny so I don't think you want that
I missed the wax part when I did mine

I put the paint defender spray on my 14 xc on the entire fairing, top of bags and front of the bags. I did have the paint defender sheets on the front finder and the top of the gas tank and around the gas cap. Wouldn't know it unless you ask. good stuff. Ride Safe all..

Yep, you heard that right. The high-quality OEM Victory chrome saddlebag racks for free. Over 2 years ago an owner of another '11 Ness XC wanted a set of untouched bag lids for a project and wanted to trade lids "straight up". I wasn't really looking to change so he actually had to "talk me into it". This was in the day when there were no speakers in the saddlebags so in hindsight, I assume that is what he was doing. Repainting the custom paint of the Ness bikes would have been next to impossible so the only way he could do that would be for him to cut into a pristine set and I became the beneficiary just be being in the right place at the right time.
