Default New grips for my XC

Just installed a set of my Arlen Ness's deep cut comfort on my 2012 cross country. Huge improvement, i dont have huge hands, but with the grips being much bigger around than stock grips it felt way more comfortable..

It doesn't matter what letters are on the tank, it's still the same wind in your face...

I've been eyeing the same grips for a while now. They do look great and now that you've confirmed their comfortable too, I am closer than ever to get a set.

Thanks! I'm thinking about getting the shifter peg and brake peg to match..I hate how short the stock brake peg is so I hope this one's longer

Those do look great. I have quite a bit of Ness gear on my XC, including some Deep Cut series stuff. You have now convinced me to make the grip swap official. I'll go with the black Deep Cut grips to match everything else. Good to know they are comfortable as well. I also considered the Deep Cut Fusion grips(attached a pic).

I have been eying some Ness grips for awhile as well they look great on the bike. Happy to hear that they are as comfortable as they look.

Hey sgtstress great looking bike love that color, i see you have the deep cut shifter peg and possibly the brake peg to match? quick question, are they longer than the stock brake/shifter pegs?

Thanks Ridnour44. Yes, the Ness Deep Cut brake and shifter pegs are a little longer than the stock pieces. They measure out at 3 1/4" at the longest point of the peg. The ends are a slash cut design. I have had zero issues with them. The Deep Cut passenger pegs do tend to flop down a bit after a ride on fairly rough road however. It's not a big deal, just a little annoying to those of us with a healthy dose of OCD.

I have the black chrome deep cut floorboards, deep cut grip, and shifter/brake pegs. The grips are really comfortable, the floorboards eliminated all the vibration I felt on my feet, the shifter/brake pegs are a little longer and I had a couple of issues with the passenger pegs.
The first set of passenger pegs lasted all of 2 hours before the pads started coming off and the second set (same manufacture date) made it about 500 miles. Per Shane at Ness they have changed the adhesive so the ones built fter the first production run should be good now.
Note that the shifter/brake pegs are a challenge to install and I highly suggest greasing than screwing the adapters into the bike before installing the pegs. The other option of installing the adapters into the pegs first may cause you to peel some of the rubber strips off the pegs.
Also note that when you install the passenger pegs you can eliminate the possibility of having floppy pegs by using the plastic washer from the OEM pegs and the curved metal piece that comes with the pegs. Slip the plastic washers over the peg adapters then install them partially into the mounts. Once you do that slide the curved metal peice between the peg adapters and the mounts. In order to line everything up so the pin will go through the mounts/pegs stick a phillips screwdriver all the way through and wiggle it around until you have a clear shot through the holes.
