Default Removing D&D louvered baffles

Has anyone removed the baffles and found a way to keep that sound and add back pressure. I have noticed that the D&D mufflers are a popular item for the XR. I want that loud sound and to me it sounds better but I need that back pressure.

I don't know if it would create enough back pressure for what you need but some people weld washers to bolts and put them in like the pic. A tie down bolt might work too.

Thank you Bbob that is one of my ideas, but i think I would need a very large washer or bolt as my pipes are 4". i am not against it just wondering if someone has tried this with these pipes with success. She will run over 120 according to speedo which i cant remember RPMs so not sure exactly how fast, with the baffles, but she wouldnt pass 110 on a downhill slope with them out. This bike runs super great without many mods so if I can get all the mods that I am successfully looking to do then she will run like a raped ape.

Did you know that when you trash your stock system your loosing the crossover in the head pipes, that is lost power that is hard to get back with aftermarket pipes , unless they are 2-1.
Oh .Had a Raider and none of the aftermarket could match the stock system with the EXUp.

I forget the name but I had slide in open baffles in my last bike, made no difference in sound in or out but added the backpressure. They looked like the guts of a cherry bomb muffler that were held in by a bolt. Not much help but it worked for me.

2012 Victory Cross Country Tour, Sunset Red.
Parts added to make her louder, faster and more mine.
Stage 1 filter and pipes, Lloydz VFIII & ATW.
Clearwater Darla, LED GLO, emergency lights and siren.
Bushtec hitch and harness, Kompact Kamp trailer.

After a year and a half I banged out the baffle and unwrapped it. Wish I would have done it from day one but I do things the hard way. Maybe you could modify the baffle to give you some more sound and keep a little back pressure.

I started to look at them and i think I'm going to cut both ends off weld then together slide it back in and bolt it to see if that cures my intentions. Basically it will cut the louvers out of the baffle which shouldn't kill the sound much and should give me my back pressure. This will take time and i will post my findings.

What about leaving the D&D pipes as they are and removing the cat material. Has anyone done that yet?

D&D does not recommend removing wrapping due to pipe blueing since they have no heat shields. I would rather cut end plates of their existing baffles...create new 2 1/4" pipe for echo chamber with 2" baffle to be welded inside and between each existing end plates for existing baffles.
Have a set of unwrapped D&D baffles we removed and swapped out for a customer here ....we are going to do the mod mentioned above.
