Default Heated Grips Out

My heated grips don't work on new '15 XCT. The left one was smoking when I turned them on high. I think they both need to be replaced. Y'all think there's something else I should check before I take it in. Thanks

You can trace the wires and make sure that there is not a bare spot in them or that one of the connections are not exposed. If you are still under warranty then take it back to the dealer and demand new grips. If you are out of warranty then I would strongly suggest getting away from the OEM grips and getting aftermarket heated ones. I put the OEM grips on my XR and after 9k miles the left one is wore down pretty bad, going to have to either replace them or put some grip covers over them.

Not sure what your dealer will do for you but....

I have the XC that I put on Avon heated grips and love them. My buddy has the XCT with the factory heated grips and told me my grips get warmer and likes the feel better too. (This is sounding weird)

Anyway maybe you could wire up some Avon grips as an alternative?

Smoke is a vital part of any internal combustion engine. As long as the smoke stays in everything is fine. When the smoke leaks out things go bad.
