Default Another exhaust idea

Why would this be a bad idea and not work?

Using a single long thrush. Cut it in half and cap the cut end. On the input side weld a flat piece of metal. Gut my CCT muffler, pulling out the baffle section but leaving the inner liner in. Press the cut thrush into the shell down to where the metal seals against the front inside of the CCT housing. End goal is to have a few inches of the end muffler body left.

I guess sound wise I am looking for a deep tone but without the harshness. I'm thinking the last section would help get the deep tone and the thrush would quiet the exhaust down and provide some back pressure.

Good idea but I think the half thrush at the exit would work better and use a short glass pack.

Why would you do either, if your going to the trouble, just DO the whole thrush, welded at both ends, true 2 1/2" slash cut tail pipes that fit just inside the lip of the stock tail cones.

Actually if you want it welded both ends it's more like the lower one internally

Using the whole thrush in each gives a nice low tone but in no means is it on the loud side. Using just half or less at the end would cut out the raspiness of just using gutted cans.
