How to- tinting lower portion of clear XC windshield
Thought I'd post in case others were considering something similar. I've seen this done with paint once. Tint looks better IMO. Looks deeper, more rich whereas paint looked sort of one dimensional and flat.
I tinted the bottom portion of the inside of my 11" Madstad windshield using Rust-Oleum's Custom Shop Lens Tint. A pretty neat trick I discovered is the stock shield can be used as a template for getting a nice line for the tint spray.
Tape off the shield to be painted, take the stock shield and rotate it 180 degrees and lay it inside. Secure it with bolts going through the top hole for each shield. The curve of the stock windshield is now the masking line. Spray tint (or paint if desired) at a 45 degree angle to get a nice, narrow fade line.
Inside of shields, stock rotated 180 and secured with bolts then sprayed.
Outside of shield.

looks nice. I also used an inverted blade windshield as a journal line when I was cutting down the stock 16" windshield. That line is perfect!
