Default Metasheen black vs crystal black

On the 2015 Magnum, one color is listed as Metasheen Black and Super Steel Gray. In 2016, Vic called it Crystal Black and Super Steel Gray. The paint suffixes are both 677. Did vic just change the name or are they two different blacks? Did they use a different clear? They look the same.

Thanks, Jim

Ford and GM would do the same thing between models. Chevy would call it one color and Pontiac another.

Just a name change. Something about trademark infringement. Ordered some of the mettasheen/crystal clear from the dealer. The parts guys were completely clueless. Ended up calling MIC and getting the part number from them. But they would not sell direct.

Just so you know, this is a true tri-stage paint. Black base, pearl midcoat, and final clear. Any good black base would probably work. The midcoat is the "crystal" part of it and is actually just a universal clear with pearl added. It comes in a kit of 1 quart Crystal Clear and 1 pint of hardener. It sprays just like any mid solids 2:1 universal clear. Super easy.
