Default more audio stuff

i have the set of kicker speakers installed and working but now am looking for a cheap and simple to install amp for a lil more umph. maybe even suggestions as how to use the stock speakers as extras to. either install them in the bag lids or some other place. or would it be better to go for a set of 6x9s in the stock speaker locations..

I used the Rockford Fosgate PBR 300x2 amp. I only have aftermarket Polk fairing speakers in 5.25 with the amp and it is a worlds difference. I can now hear it clearly at 75 with my midget shield. I will be going to 6.5's soon tho because why not? I bought the amp on Ebay new for $100. Amazon amp wiring harness kit with mounting plate. Took all of a hour to install everything. Plate mounts to under side of factory radio. Needs no remote wire so just wire power, ground, and speakers and good to go. I think in all I have $220 in speakers, amp, harness, and bracket.

I also have the Rockford Fosgate PBR but mine is the 4-channel variant. I may swap it out, as it seems this amp only accepts speaker level inputs. I'd like to take the preamp inputs (from my aftermarket stereo) instead but looks like I'll have to use another amp to do it.

Zero issues using a very cheap $20 amp with the preouts from aftermarket stereo on my other bike.
Wasn't aware the PBR did not support them.
I did read people having issues with lack of bass since stock stereo seems to be like stock car stereos with lot of bass falloff to not destroy the stock speakers.

Also, you lose so much fidelity when you are riding unless you have subwoofers. Even then it's questionable. Great when I am standing still, but so much is lost when I am rolling...

I expected it to be horrible because of so many complaints but everyone must have loud pipes. Stock set to 10 sounds fine at 75mph cruising. I don't need perfect though just need to be able to hear it. I think I'll get better sounds moving 522 to rear and going 6.5 in front. That will probably need an amp to sound good though. The 522 have enough sensitivity to still sound good with stock low power.

Did you use the really expensive plastic adapters or generic ones?
Looks like the expensive ones are offset slightly but other than that they look the same as a $5 adapter.

I think they were less than $20 shipped. I did have to grind them down a touch so they wouldn’t hit the fairing.
