Default Unused connectors next to ABS under rear fender?

IMG_20180623_160051.jpg

Okay I'm curious what are these seemingly random connectors next to the ABS unit on a 2012 CCT?

Obviously never been used lot of corrosion.
I'm finding lot of unused connectors all over this bike this is just the latest.
The location is so inaccessible I don't know what would use this.

I have a 2012 CCT and when installed the saddlebag audio system I ended up using a couple of the unused connectors. Frankly I was impressed at how the main wiring harness was already made for some accessories Polaris only made available long after my 2012 was put together. The rear speaker amplifier mounts under the rear fender near the ABS unit.

All the best,

Mark

Hmm so is that what those connectors are for?
Just seems an odd place to have exposed connectors unless the prior other removed whatever was connected back there.

You also have a 12VDC switched two wire female plug under the tank along the front left side. It's in the main harness for the driving lights kit for the CR. I used those wires and a switch on my CCT dashboard to power the coil of a relay to power my CCT driving lights.

The switched 12VDC in the saddlebag was for the CC, not the CCT. But if it's another switched power connection it would work just fine to add a power outlet to the saddlebag.

The forward thinking went pretty deep with the engineers who designed our motorcycles.

All the best,

Mark

I don't know so much that it was forward thinking but cost savings. You build a frame with a harness and the final product can be whatever demand requires.

Switched power would be good for a relay. The kuryakyn light kit uses the heated grips connection in fairing to trigger relay so only power when engine running.
