Some folks have had good response where others didn't notice much improvement. Try it and see, use small increments.

Itís my understanding that if you advance the timing too much you will cause the engine to ping. Pinging is bad for the engine so be careful.

Especially when it gets hot. Higher setting will make pinging more likely. If you do try a higher setting, you may want to use 91-or-better octane fuel.

I went up as high as +7 with no pinging. But being concerned about burning valves and piston tops, I backed it down to +5 and all is very good. You mileage may vary.

every engine is different and responds to tweaks differently.
Last proper dyno tune I got on my Vegas Fred took 11 degrees out of the total advance and picked up 11HP and a chunk of torque.
The bike has a timing wheel set at plus 4.
Theres no substitute for a thorough professional tune in my opinion.
I just booked in with Fred to get the XC Maximused on his dyno next week,
Hes just bought the system and mine will be the first bike to be tuned with it.
No need for a timing wheel or PCV with that system.
