Everything they said^^^ but also run a good fuel systems cleaner through the tank. The mesh can clog or gum up a little especially on bikes that sit through the winter. Gas will always go through the least restrictive area. If your screens are gummed up on the lower portion it will pull the gas through the upper part. This is not a problem when you have a full tank but can become an issue when the gas is low.
Run a good fuel systems cleaner for the next 2 or 3 tanks and see if that helps, but also as mentioned, the best way to have to buy a new fuel pump is to continually run around with a low tank of gas.

Born in the deepest jungles of India, I was raised by a friendly bear, until I was kidnapped by a pack of unruly baboons who taught me the finer points of swing jazz, all the while being stalked by an incompetent python and an evil but mis-understood tiger... Ummm, wait a minute, that's the Jungle book, no I was raised just outside of St. Louis, But...in the deepest jungles of a middle class neighborhood .
