Default Used XC price

What do you guys think is a good price for a 2010 XC with the skull paint? It has a backrest, luggage rack and heated grips. It also has 7076 miles on it. They are asking $17,999 but it is on consignment so they told me to make an offer.

Also is the transmission difference between 2010 and 2011 for reliability or only due to the amount of noise that it made?

Thank You.

Given the oil change intervals have increased from the 2010 to the 2011 model, I would venture to assume they've felt the reliability has increased. However, since I own a 2011 cross, this is nothing more than a biased assumption. For all we know, the 2010's could turn out to be the more reliable transmissions.

As far as price, whatever you do, make sure you tell 'em you hate skulls, and riding a bike with skulls on it does not make you happy at all. The price would have to be a give-away for you to even consider on riding with skulls.

See what kbb.com & nadaguides.com have to say about retail value, and make sure you buy below retail if indeed you end up buying it.

Is this a ness bike?

Kelly blue book retail price is $15,895
Accessories are priced at penny's on the dollar
$265 for the skulls, $65 for the backrest and $65 for the luggage rack
Total accessory price is $365
Total would be $16,260

Skull XC is not a Ness bike. The Ness XC came out as a 2011 model.

So with 7076 miles on the bike I should be able to get it back down around 15,500.

Thanks for the info!!

If you want to have the upper hand in the negotiations, always remember that the dealer's more desperate to find a buyer for their bike than you are to get that specific bike. They have a time frame to sell it before it depreciates even more - you on the other hand, have all the time in the world - your money's not losing any value.

Good luck! And if you don't get this one, there will be plenty more to chose from.

$15,500 would be good offer for them. If they turn it down, then tell them no, that you will look elsewhere.

I paid $17,000 OTD for my 11 model but it had no accessories on it.

Just like Crossroads said: you have the upper hand on this. They know it and now you know it. Do not squabble with them, just walk

They will call ya

When I go to get a bike I tell them I am not here to squabble give me your best price. I either except or walk.

Personally I disagree with it being the buyers market but only in regard to the X bikes.

These bikes are selling like hotcakes and has been responsible for the 50%+ increase in sales over last year for Victory.

I think with the Xbikes your going to have a much harder time with negotiations then say with a Jackpot, Kingpin or Vision.

Basically if you don't buy it at this point in time someone else will. The Xbikes are HOT commodities!

True, but with that attitude you'll never be a good negotiator.

Granted I couldn't sleep with excitement before I got my ponny, but when I went in, I told my salesman I was somewhat interested in the bike but the bike was far from ideal for me. He ended up jumping through hoops for me to get the deal done, given my attitude of not caring too much one way or the other - he felt it was up to him to earn me the deal I wanted so they can make a sale. Little did he know that inside I was burning with desire to hop on and ride her home. Not to mention my wife was very impressed, since she knew how bad I wanted the XR.
