Default Cross Classic Horn Upgrade

After having an 18 Wheel Cage come into my lane, completely oblivious of me... my CR... or my Amazing stock horn, i am looking at upgrading my beep, beep. Anyone done this on the Cross Classic? Suggestions... Brands... Location ?

I see plenty info on other bikes, just not the Cross Classic

Thank You

A lot of folks are using the Flamm Low Note horn that turns that meep meep into an old car sounding beeeeep beeeeep. You can get them at many auto parts stores. I've seen them mounted behind the chin fairing grill and I put mine off to the side. They plug right into the existing wiring.

I went with a Stebel air horn, which is as loud as you would want a horn to be. I personally did not want to show the horn anywhere, so I installed mine under the rear fender, from where it's been happily blasting for over two years now. Here's a thread with pics of my install: https://www.victoryforums.com/showthread.php?t=4443.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I have a Stebel as well. Mounted the compressor next to the battery and the horn behind the rear cylinder. Connected the via tubing.

Not really on point here, because I have an XCT, but just for general reference:

1) I went with a Stebel Nautilus (compact air horn) for the second bike in a row:

A) See images 9 - 16 in my XCT gallery (link below, in signature).

B) See images 38 - 42 in my Burgman gallery, http://www.billanddot.com/burgman/ .

2) On the bike prior to those two, a Valkyrie Interstate, I started with a dual-trumpet air horn, and eventually switched to a four-electric-horn system (there was a lot of room underneath the Valk).

3) However, what I think you should really do is add a train horn, the way this fellow Valk rider did: http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/T...rain-horn.html . Requires just a slight amount of fabrication, and an air storage unit, and a compressor, and...

Cheers,

Bill P.

I installed a Wolo BadBoy air horn inside the front fairing. I made a bracket and installed over the radio where the XM module would install. Nice and loud.

I would suggest that you not ride next to 18 wheelers as the driver more than likely did not even see you due to the large blind spot they have.

I installed a Screaming Banshee in the fairing of my 2012 XCT. Had a cager in an suv move into my lane on the freeway. As I moved to the left to avoid him, I laid on the horn and he quickly got back into his original lane. The horn works!
