Default 2010 vs 2011 Cross Roads: Differences?

Thinking of buying a used Cross Roads, just don't really know if there are any major changes between the 2010 and 2011 years. What significant changes are there between these years?

In '11 Victory "updated" the transmission. Between mine and a friends '10 we can discern no difference.

The '11 model had Cruise control standard and a narrower seat. Leather bags were an option. Other than that......pretty much the same.

If you are thinking about a trunk later on, the '10 requires and "up fit" kit the '11 does not. If I remember correctly, the '10 had the windshield and hard bags standard, also.

As mentioned there was a transmission tweak on the 2011's. The upgrade resulted in oil changes being required every 5000 miles on 2011's instead of every 2500 miles on the 2010's.

The instrument cluster was also upgraded on the 2011.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

i still change at 3. either way you cant go wrong-

Found this listing of changes for the 2011 Cross lineup in Motorcycle.com: http://www.motorcycle.com/manufactur...ews-89872.html

2011 Victory Upgrades

* A totally re-worked 6-speed transmission that promises smoother shifting, easier neutral access, 100,000-mile durability, and 5000 mile oil changes.

* New instruments for cruisers and Cross Roads. An analog speedo is joined by an LCD panel that includes a clock, gear-position indicator and numeric tach. It is backlit by a cool blue hue.

* Warning lights now in the gauge pack rather than inserted in the triple clamp

* New gear-position indicator that uses a calculation to determine which gear has been selected

* New 48-amp charging system across all models, with increased output at low revs

* Black switchgear housings

* New sidestands that are less bulky but easier to access

I believe 2011 started the build-your-own Cross Roads with bag and bar selections.

Thanks for all the other replies.

Not mentioned above, or stated incorrectly about the 2010.....
+ Warning lights were in the instrument pod, not on the triple tree.
+ Instrument lighting is blue.
+ Saddle the same as all XCs with wide passenger portion.
+ Has black switchgear.
+ Hard cases, crash bar, windshield all standard.

2010 Midnight Cherry XR. 7Jurock, Lloydz AF, ATS, AFR tuned VFCIII, IAV, and T-6 and locally repacked pipes = big smiles. SOLD to a dear friend, so it's still in the family."
2017 Spyder F3 Limited - keeps this old guy in the wind and riding with friends.
Cure that ugly stand up license plate with the cheapest and best laydown bracket. Click this:

Thanks for the reminder on passenger seating. Remember the 2010 to 2011 transition and how I was disappointed with 2011 seating.

How were you disappointed? Were you making the switch from being a passenger on a 2010 XR to being a passenger on a 2011 XR?

Surely everyone's butt is different, but when the 2011's came out, I had my wife sit on both passenger seats, without knowing which is which, and I asked her which she preferred. She chose the 2011 seat. Again, it's not better or worst, it's just what fits better with your passenger's bottom.

used xc seats are available if needed and there are now
aftermarket alternatives for your seating pleasure. i tried an xc
seat and now have an ultimate. both rider and passenger are
happy. also adj pass boards for the wife. fits either bike.
