Default New CR and New to the Forum (UPDATED W/ PICS)

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. I just sold my 08 Anniv. Softail Deluxe after dropping a stupid amount of money into it and then realizing that I would rather ride the bike and she was just a show queen. Prior to the HD I had a 05 Kingpin that I sold to my step dad so when I was in the market for a new bike when I knew the HD was not going to work out for me, Victory was like coming home. Shoot that said the HD stealership would not come down on a 05 Roadking with 18k on the clock... he wanted 13.5 and would not budge so he pretty much ran me out the door. i told him I am going to look at a victory, he yelled back about the history and lifestyle. I replied nothing against HD but I can make my own history and I want to pay for bike, I already got a life!

I am now a proud owner of a 2010 CR. It has the extreme graphics (skulls), and yes it is a Cross Roads. I know that paint did not come stock on the CR only the CC but this was a special order that someone walked away from and left the dealer holding the bag. Now normally I would not have gone after the skulls but for some goofy reason my wife fell in love with it and the price and told me that she was not riding on the back of another kingpin when she could have the CR back seat!! (that thing is huge and momma is happy) I picked it up with 0.5 on the clock for 15k out the door. 1.5 more the the HD and helluva lot more bike... They gave me the 1k off for military and hooked me up with custom exhust they build in the shop... Welcome home!!!

Look forward to learning much from you guys!

Welcome to the Victory Forums.

A couple of pointers. Please take the time to read the “Sticky” threads in the “Victory Forums Rules and New Members Introductions” forum. This will help you out a LOT with the Victory Forums.

The Search feature is your friend! You will find the answers to a lot of your questions by using it.

If you are asking questions that are of a technical/mechanical/electrical/performance nature please place them in the “Victory Tech and Performance” forum. This will speed up a response. Placing them in the model specific forum can delay a response.

Welcome home mate. Sounds like you'll fit right in. Hope you don't have thin skin though. We like to joke around some and would hate to see you get your feelings hurt over someone just trying to be funny.

Oh, we would all like to see a skull CR so post 'em up, eh!!

I have been in the Navy for 19years, thick skin is something you get or you do not make it as long as I have! As far as posting up pics. Allow me to read the do and dont's first. Every forum is different and I do not know if their is a required post count etc... I will get them up if not!

Cool! I was in for 5 years and decided to get out. At the time it seemed like a good idea but later on I wished I had stayed in longer.

Bigseadaddy,
Thank you for your service from a fellow Vet. I'm retired AF and now work in a joint program office with AF/Navy.

I ride a CR too (2011 Crimson) and would love to see one with the skulls. You've got a seriously unique ride; and a heck of a deal on it. Assuming you got this at Victory of Southern Maryland; I was there last April but it was raining so I couldn't test ride and see how their exhaust sounded. Hopefully I'll get back there again soon and get a ride in.

Yep I got it from then and I did get their in house pipes. Well they sound great. What they do is they cut the end of the stock muffler off. Then they gut the internal baffle and multiple pipes out. They then weld in another straight baffle from thunder city and weld the end cap back on. They do all this with install for 499.99. What you are left with is a very nice sounding pipe but one that has back pressure needed to keep the low end that you need. Could I have gotten the D&D or RPW for the same price.... Yes, but my dealer did this and they made it very clear that my warranty would not be an issue later. Could I have done it myself for 1/8th of the price - FOR SURE! But again, I modded the heck out of my HD and other bikes I always ended up voiding warranties before I had the bike a year. I promised the wife I would not do that with this bike.

Southern MD Victory was a Custom Bike and Harley / Triumph Repair shop before they became a Victory dealer. They really know what their doing if you ask me.

I will get some pics up this afternoon - after I clean her up. I have been riding in the last couple of day 28 low 35 highs but i could not help it!!!

LOL.... Man you guys are ruthless.. Ok I went out and cleaned her up a little and took some pictures. Cloud cover today so not the best but it will due!

By the way, I do not know if you guys name your rides but my wife and kids do. They have a name for our travel trailer, name for my truck (blacked out F250) and now my bike. They call the CR Aunt Fanny from the kids movie Robots with Robin Williams. They say the bike has a big butt like Aunt Fanny...

Enjoy and thanks for the welcome!
