Default Catylist Removal from head pipe

I'm preparing to do so exhaust mods on my XR and I need advice as if there will be repercussions if I remove the catylist from the head pipes. I have had the stage 1 upgrade but was not please with the sound or performance thus the exhaust mode to remove the baffles and install short baffles.

Kevinx usually says to not remove the cat plugs or you can reduce your performance from the volacity change in the exhaust flow. If you want to change the sound, I've been told there's a diverter plate inside the exhaust by the cross-over the diverts the exhaust to each side evenly. One guy was going to have that diverter cut out and have the cross-over blocked so all the exhaust would come out the right muffler in a 2 into 1 manner for performance however I haven't heard how that turned out for him. He was sure the sound would be there once he did that and the left muffler on his is now for just looks.
