I'm interested in powder coating my frontend (forks, trees, etc.) black like I did with my last bike. The problem is, when I went by the shop today, we really dont know how much it entails ripping it apart. Was wondering if anyone has or knows how long it takes to rip apart the whole front end to strip for powder coating. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Removing the forks would be rather easy as the fairing does not need to come off. Outer fairing removed and inner take loose. 2 hours is a good guess, but that depends on your skills. Disassembly is something else, reassembly will be fun if they are anything like a VTX.
I want to make a correction, it is not necessary to mess with the fairing. The fork tubes will come off without having to remove or loosen anything concerning the fairing.
