Default Air Filter Foam Strip

I'm going to modify my Stage 1 exhaust pipes with the 1 1/8" hole per the instructions several of you have given in this forum. My question is this. Does the fuel tank have to be completely removed in order to access the "foam strip" that many of you have removed to help improve air intake or can you simply loosen it from the front and lift it up enough. Thanks again all your help guys!!!!!

Default Sorry Guys

I'm new to the Victory Forums site and didn't realize until after I posted this question that you could search the forums for pretty much anything. Anyway, I did a search and this question has already been asked and answered so thanks again to everyone who helps and provides input.

If you have the Stage 1 pipes you DO NOT need to take anything to it. The exhaust on a Stage 1 pipe is 1.75 inch diameter and is a straight through design. You 1 and 1/8th bit won't do a thing except chew up the interior.
