The XC is a hella of bike. I can't comment on the trunk but I will say my wife, 5'5" says its the most comfortable bike shes every ridden and thats with the backrest. Everytime she knows I'm going she's ready. This has never been the case not even with the GL1800. She would have errands to run, shopping or something. Well I'm starting to miss that. She been on these things for 35 years so shes pretty experienced. Extremly comfortable bike. I just put on a Cee Baileys Cee Dragon 17" and it helped a bunch but if I had it to do over I would get a 19" and I'm your height. If your going with the factory windshield based on your requirement I would get the tall. I haven't put the lower wings on yet but everyone I've talked to says it makes a major improvement. If you like a little sound I would recommend the D&D exhaust. I did the stage 1 and it s still pretty quite, and the D&Ds are suppose to be here at the end of the week. A little more expensive but the quality is outstanding. The first thing I used to do with my HDs was a piston, cam kit. This thing runs pretty strong with just a stage 1(slip ons/AF/ download) and I have no desire to add cams at this point especially with the gas prices. Things they could have done differently is of course the windshield, it should come with lowers, and the stage 1 exhaust could be a touch louder.
