Default Lloyds RPW Exhaust

I know there have been several posts about exhaust but this is specifically about the Loyds RPW slip ons and Fuel Controller. I am thinking very seriously about getting these and would love to hear from anyone who has them and what their likes and dislikes are regarding these as well as if you experienced any noticable power improvements.

I just bought a new Cross Roads last week. I test drove one without the RPW's, and one with. I was told the power difference was somewhere in the area of 5%, however I dont buy it. It felt like more than that. I drove the demos a couple more times to feel the power difference, and its very noticable.

I immediately said put the RPW's on the new scoot, no doubt about it, it was a no brainer.

They just do a stage 1 reflash, and put on the RPW's, and off you go.

Thanks for the info kr....how was the sound. I'm looking for to make some noise....not loud metallic noise but nice "big boy" rumble that gets loud when you get into the throttle. What's your opinon?

Ive had after markets pipe like Cobra and D&D, it goes toe to toe with those for sure. It's probably as loud as the noise ordenances locally will allow, without being ticketed when the noise police come out. Nice power boost, crisp deep rumble.. No complaints outta me, and I love loud pipes, they save lives!

I have a 2011 Cross Roads and I just put on the RPW slip ons and added a VFCIII fuel controller because I heard it helps with the backfire on roll-off. I put them all on this weekend, but I'm having some problems programming the VFCIII. I'm still getting the backfire, and if I add to the "Idle" or "Accelerator" I get a surging at cruising speed. The manual says backfire is a symptom of running lean; I add fuel to those 2 settings and I get the surge, which is also a symptom of running lean (which doesn't happen at the original setting). Does anyone have this same combination? Are you having the same problems? If not, what settings are you using on the VFC.

My current settings (w/ Backfiring)
Green: 3.5
Yellow: 4
Red: 3
Green/Blue: 3
Yellow/Blue: 3.5
(The last 2 are for Nitrous, so I haven't messed with them at all)

Settings with surging at Cruising Speeds:
Green: 4
Yellow: 4.5
Red:3

The owner of the dealership I bought mine at had them on his. Honestly, I wasn't overly impressed with the sound. Sounded OK at idle, and a bit tiney when revved. No review on the power thing. He loves them though.

I have the OEM stage 1 flash, and backfiring on the roll-off is definately noticable. Didnt know that was a sign of running lean, but it doesnt suprise me.

For the money though, the RPW's are a good value.

Im all about more power, so hope the controller works out good for you, hopefully someone can help ya out!

You guys are funny - well, some of you.

This has been discussed in another thread, and the RPWs alone (no other improvements) will lose you a few horsepower and a little torque. LOSE not GAIN. What you gain is a bit more sound, but you are trading horsepower and torque for that extra bit of sound.

Good info. I wonder if the dyno was done with the factory mapping, or with the stage 1 flash.. Either way the number speak for themselves. I guess with the RPW's and the noise, I drive the bike harder, maybe that has something to do with the feel.

Try this:

Green 1
Yellow 2.5
Red 1
Green/blue 0
Yellow/blue 3.5
Red/blue 5

The green/blue is for nitrous setup. Also a rpw with high flow filter, vfc3 and rubber strip removed will be right at 90 hp and 100-105. Removing the rubber strip added a couple hp but really increased the tq. They need air. Seen Lloyd spin several and get these numbers.
