Default BLUE Crossroads?

Is Victory going to come out with a blue crossroads? Why they don't offer all the colors on both bikes is beyond me. It isn't like the bikes are all that different.

You could also see if a dealer will work a "tin swap" with you. You could buy a crimson XR, "tin swap" it with the dealers blue XC, and the fairing on the XC, would need to be painted to crimson.

You would have a blue XR. And, the dealer would have a crimson XC to sell...

We have done exactly that twice at PoG, but there are a few things to keep in mind for a dealer doing this. The way the Core program works means that the the XR must have the hard bags for the money to work, you have to have a VERY good painter to do the fairing/forged uppers, and don't forget the headlight bucket on the XR.
P.S. the color Crimson has been replaced by Sunset red
P.P.S The reason that Vic limited it's color choises was to HELP dealers keep inventory cost. Back in 08/09 every bike was availavble in like 5 colors, plus premium packages, and a dealer had to have 30 bikes just to cover the line. That number is down to about 12 now. That is how you keep dealers open

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

So...basically, I would either have to buy a crosscountry, or have a crossroads painted. And now they are changing from "crimson" to "sunset red"??? So...THREE shades of red. Midnight Cherry metallic, Crimson, and sunset red. But the Cross country has had white, blue, and a skull motif, while both have had black. I can see cutting down some colors for keeping inventory down, but red, red, and red is a little boring. Victory has a way cool couple of bikes with the cross series, but it seems they don't want them to go very far. I have over 34,000 on my Vision, and it is a great bike, but am looking at the Crossroads as an addition, and I would prefer to have some kind of color choice besides....red. Or black. Too bad they can't consolidate the colors of the two bikes.

I would mind seeing them in a few different colors myself. Because the only thing I hate worse than shinny black, is crimson. I'll just have to save my nickles for a custom paint job...

I wanted a white XR - but got a black one instead (since they don't make it in white). I figured my butt won't know the difference, and I was right.

For some reason, it seems there are a few folks out there who are so set in their color choice that they refuse to buy the bike unless it's in the color their heart desires. For those folks, I have two words: custom paint. If color is really that important to you, then go ahead and get the color nobody else has, and enjoy riding the bike instead of weeping that Victory won't paint it the way you dreamed it.

Keeping color choices to a low number reduces required inventory like kevinx just mentioned, and it also reduces fabrication cost - The assembly line runs smoothest when each item assembled is the same as the one before - see the Model T success story if you don't believe that.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I understand those production costs. Would be kinda cool, if they could ship a "unpainted" bike, all ready for custom paint job...

My point is that they already paint the identical bike blue. Maybe the concept is too complex for some to grasp. These bikes can be ordered. Is it so hard to have it assembled with a shield, instead of a fairing? It isn't like I want a color they don't already spray, like cow pie green, or something.

That's a decent point. If typical production progress occurs, then you would think we would see the blue or the white/silver paint in the XRoads for 2012. It might also be a math thing all to do with the whole CORE Custom program. Too many paint color choices is costly to have in stock. And someone else can do the math of what possible combinations that would create...
