Default laying bike down.

I was watching some YouTube videos on a cross country demo for a police dept. Looks like they were using older models because they donít have the big fairings on the crash bars. But it shows then basically leaning the bike over and it rests on the crash bar without falling over. Does anyone know if there are any videos of the new cross country's with the full lower fairing doing this or is this even possible without severely damaging the bike. Not that I am going to do this, but to know if it can or not.

I tipped my XCT over, with my wife and the trunk on the bike. There was NO damage at all. The chrome on the "crash" bars was not even marred.

The Bike will tip over to the point the Floor board hit, fold up some and then teh Crash bars, and bag protectors come in. This is not to say the bike will not go all the way over.
Keep in mind the Police bikes have a skid plate and sliders on their bikes. watched one video of a Cross Country Police bike pivoting on the floor board sliding the rear tire in a power slide to turn the bike faster. Very simular to a dirrt bike hard turn but without putting yoru feet down.

I talked to Mike Schultz at Victory ride in Iowa. He told me that the police bikes use a different rear bag bar set up. He told me that the bar that comes on the Tour will not keep the bike up when the trunk is loaded and a passenger on board. It will go all the way over. He also said to unhook the ABS when doing the low speed turns like they do with the police bikes. Slipping the clutch and riding the rear brake. I have looked at the bar and you can buy it on the police site for 699. They also have a skid plate that bolts on the bottom of the running boards 120 a pair.
I was out turning my bothers F6B GL1800 with out dragging anything. I could turn inside him at same slow speed.

I can tell you from lots and lots of personal experience (58k on an XCT), Whether the bike will tip past the roll protection with passenger and loaded trunk depends entirely on the nature of the tipover. Executing a poor low speed normal turn, no way. Sliding in mud at 15 mph, yes.
I have taken RLaP 6 times (5 free repeats for fun) and find an XCT with trunk and passenger can do full lock turns equivalent or better than any HD or GW. Don't take this personal, but that horse shit about needing to disconnect ABS to do slow maneuvers is pathetic. Anyone who says that has no experience in the matter and no business speaking on it as an expert.

I did the same thing as BD-- and same results; no damage. At that moment all the money I spent was well worth it.

Yeah I agree 6 times over and no damage to speak of, I am a slow learner. The bike only went right over once when I was parked on a bit of a side hill. These were all not paying attention tip overs nothing moving at any speed.

Those police Victory's look totally awesome.
Went to a bike show about a year ago in Sydney and 3 or 4 (I cant remember) Harley bikes rolled up painted and kitted out exactly like CHP bikes- they were even wearing the CHIPS uniforms. Their lights and sirens worked too. They told us they were road legal, which was hard to believe. Now that would be a lot of fun bolting up the road to pick up a pizza with sirens blazing

I have taken the ARC from the MSF a couple of times and Depot Picker is right on. While I don't have ABS, the bike will go over as far as your pucker factor will allow. You really need to LEAN these over to tip. The only time my forged bars ever touched is when I was sitting on the SIDE of the seat with the bike leaned over. The ARC instructor, a buddy of mind, even commented during the course, "You know we don't pay for floorboard replacements, right?" To control the bike, practice, practice, practice in as controlled environment as you can find. These are amazingly well build and will do crazy things safely.

Ride safe.
