Default Rattling Noise

I recently purchased a 2011 XC. I'm still breaking it in and recently noticed a rattling noise in the first three gears at around 3000 rpm.

It sounded like it was coming from the front somewhere while riding. So I parked it to rev the motor and it looks like it's coming from the pipes, after a few revs it stopped...ummmmmmmmmmmmm

While doing this I discovered there's seems to be rev limiter as it cuts out about 500 rpm from red line.

Has anyone had this happened to their bikes?

Otherwise I love the bike except that whole buffeting thing which I hope will be remedy as soon as the new shield arrives.

Hey don't ever rev your bike that high to find a noise or rattle.
All your doing is damaging your motor.

When it is rattleing. Reach up, and put a finger on the plastic piece on the top of your fairing below the windshield. Bet it shuts up

I'm not an asshole...I just type that way

Default Buffeting

I put the next size taller cee bailey wjndshield, and a set of deflectors on the forks faceing straight out and it eliminated all buffeting on my XC.
