Default New owner:Any thing to look for on a 2011 CC?

Just purchased my first Victory. I got a 2011, fully dressed w/ a bunch of accessories already installed. is there any thing to be aware of on the 2011 models? parts that wear prematurely? mechanical issues?

how many of you carry a extra clutch repair cable?

Not really. Make sure battery cables have star washers and tight. Align your headlight per owners' manual (most dealers eye ball it). Adjust clutch cable when bike's cold (in the morning, after it sat overnight). You don't need a spare clutch cable - hasn't been a problem on the XR/XC's. Check tire pressure frequently, and ride safe.

'11s have noisy torque compensators. The hotter it gets, the louder it gets. Mine has 13000 miles on it and has had no detectable change in behavior. I remember reading some Polaris offered a fix, but only a few forum members went for it, and I do not recall the conditions of the offered repair at all. It wasn't performed as a recall or warranty repair, but as a customer satisfaction offering since Polaris maintains that mechanically the component is sound. Just loud.

Checking the rear tire pressure is accomplished most easily by removing the left bag. It's either that or rolling around on the ground. I don't particularly care for rolling around on the ground.

I've noted a couple other times that my coated aluminum parts like derby cover and risers seem to be peeling. I won't discount this being my fault...sometimes I derp pretty hard.

Outside of that this bike runs, rides, and handles like a dream.

Congratulations, nice choice in color...

Mine had 7400 miles on it when I picked it up. The clutch lever pull was tight and the clutch pulsated when getting under way. I put a Barnett cable on it first, and ended up putting a Barnett Scorpion clutch in it. While I had it apart I put the ATS on it and the Lloydz air filter, chrome primary support plate and matching chrome timing cover. Not so sure the support plate has a real world benefit because the primary cover is pretty stout and clutch cable anchor on the cases flexes anyway. I did like the fact that it mounts using all four holes that are there but Vic cheaps out only utilizing two of them for the tin foil factory cover. Vic also cheaps out on the timing cover with a self adhesive piece of tin foil, the Lloydz cover uses the two holes already behind the factory cover. I added a chrome bolt set for both the primary and timing covers and 2014 tank badges. I upgraded that embarrassing horn too...lol.

Luciferiad, you mentioned a compensator noise on 2011's. What type of noise comes from the compensator and under what conditions is it noisy?

Tech, sorry I failed to respond promptly. The torque compensator noise is well documented on the forum. It sounds like a metal can of nuts and bolts rolling around and is loudest when the bike is in gear with the clutch out. I can hear mine when it's in neutral some too. Mine also seems to increase in volume until the bike reaches operating temp.

My TQ/comp noise some how has faded away. Now I have an annoying dash rattle.

yes buy a back up cable and put in saddle bag along with a couple tools. The factory took kit is junk a specially there air pressure gage.

when you have some money buy a Lloydz timing wheel and new gasket. You will not believe how smooth the bottom end be come and zero to sixty and beyond is all most lighting fast
