Default Help with windshield

I would like to get a new windshield this spring the .7jurock flip I have a xct the problem I have is when it rains I get rain coming in from under the windshield would the xc windshield help since it sits behind the fairing instead of in front of it.

Nobody knows if a xc windshield is better than a xct windshield in rain

I have only had 2 instances where I have ridden in rain.Both times in one day,after 6 months,and nearly 9 K miles on new bike. No problems with KW Flip. I am not a good candidate for rain comparisons

There was some discussion of rain paths, air flow, and pooling in this recent thread -- https://www.victoryforums.com/showthread.php?t=67578 -- but it was related to Madstad shields, not 7Jurok.

I have an XCT, but took delivery of it two years ago with the KlockWerks Flare installed. I eventually replaced the Flare with a Madstad 11" system. Thus, sorry, I never rode my XCT with the very tall stock XCT shield, dry or wet. In any case, you're going to get wet when you're not moving... but I didn't experience any extra at-speed water problems with either the Flare or the Madstad (and the latter is open at the bottom, big time, but the air flow is nicely directed upward). You may have a point there, regarding the positioning of the XCT stocker vs. XC-type shields.

I have ridden in lots of rain. The stock XCT shield is pretty good. I use that in colder weather and a Baggershield when it's warmer. Have ridden through several torrential storms.....looking back...pretty stupid. I don't have any experience with any other windshields. I have the Baggershield, but I'm not sold on it. Nice concept to be able to add the extension top in a few seconds if the weather turns, but the tinted bottom makes it difficult to see in low light conditions. The clear top extension distorts a bit.....which is irritating when you are a little stressed riding in bad weather. Also, the lower tinted portion completely blocks your vision when you are riding into the sun. The XTC stock works well, but I don't like the looks of it. Let us know what you decide on and how you like it.

I have a 2013 XCT with the 7jurock 14"smoked flipped shield. I have a friend up in Washington "Netnorski" that rode in the rain with his stock XCT and told me he got flooded because of the opening.

That being said, the XCT has a secondary bracket that mounts with 3 holes a side instead of the XC shield that only has 2. I've seen an XCT with the outer 3 hole shield mounting bracket removed and a XC flush mounted shield in it's place. What you'll have to worry about is getting a rubber edge molding on the outer skin of the fairing so the shield doesn't scratch it. this closes the opening in the front your concerned about.

Yep, that rubber edge probably does help. I picked up some black car door U shaped edging and put on mine. Only a couple bucks at a car parts store....and looks good, too!

I will probably go with the 7jurock xc windshield. That should help the rain from coming up in my face.i don't think it's coming in from the center hole it seems to be coming in from out side gaps between the fairing and windshield

I looked at them all and settled on the Cee Bailey's Dragon. They fill in the lower part, so no rain will get in. I have used them on other bikes and like the quality and customer service.....Mike
