Default 13' Gorilla Bagger Bars "Need HELP"

Hey guys,

I'm about ready to tear into my stock handlebars and fairing. I'm trying to pull all the wires out and send them to Mike at HMD520 to do the internal wiring and soldering for the Gorilla Bagger Bars.

How hard of a job am I getting myself into. I've never changed bars out on any bike let alone one with so many wires. Does everything just unplug under the fairing. I can usually do a job as long as I do it all in the same day and can remember where everything goes. This job is going to be outside my comfort zone. I won't be putting them back together for 1-2 weeks and I'm worried about remembering what's what.

Does anyone have any advice before I try to screw something up. Or is this pretty much a straight forward job?

Do any of you guys have pictures of what to do, or any advice you might want to lend me.

Thanks,

Tommy

Tommy,
Relax, the job is pretty easy and straightforward. Make sure you get the service manual from bbob, he has a link in his sig. Search for service manual on forum to find it. Second, you are correct, everything pretty much hooks upon the fairing. Use blue masking tape and a sharpie to label connections before separating for ease if you will be leaving it disconnected for along period of time and feel unsure. You can do it

Thanks, I just get a little flustered if I go back to a job at a later date. And don't remember what the hell I did in the first place.

Do you have internal wiring on your bars? Have you unplugged all the handlebar wiring on the XC before?

BTW I have the manual from Bbob. That's awesome he does that for members.

Just take your time. take a hundred pictures if you have to. Label ALL connections even if its A/A, B/B or 1/1, 2/2 whatever it takes for you to remember it correctly. Patience is your friend. And probably the less beer the better.
